This is a piece of antique silverplate made by Reed Barton. I believe this pattern is called Unique and was issued in 1879 (not 1979). This is a master butter knife about 7 3/4 inches long. It has an elaborate HP monogram on the handle. This is a used piece with some wear on the plate at the handle end and cutting edge and a little on the dull side but in usable condition.
